Over twenty years ago, a two-hour special appeared on NBC television.  The program was titled: Angels: The Mysterious Messengers.  The opening scenes began with these words –

For centuries people have testified that their lives have been enriched by spirits from a higher plane.  Guiding, guarding, healing. these celestial beings are credited with life saving and life changing encounters.  And now, at a time when the world seems more deeply in turmoil, the sightings appear to have increased.

If the world was “deeply in turmoil” twenty years ago as the opening narrator says, what does that mean for us today?  


The last twenty years have redefined turmoil. Consider the attack on 9/11, multiple wars in the Middle East, hundreds of natural disasters, and the international and domestic terrorism that can strike at any time.  We are not safe in our schools, movie theaters, concerts or churches.


The success of this angel special led to other programs, like Touched by an Angel, being produced.  This kind of programming has been replaced by more dramatic and unsettling programming that may reflect the state of the world but does nothing to improve it.


This site offers fifteen segments from the first angel shows.   These are stories that many might call corny or out of date.  These are stories of hope, and of humanity and connection. Stories that used to be more common but that have lately been obscured by uncertainty, and doubt.  


Our hope is this site helps us all to remember who we are and what is possible.
